Trend Micro sells several tiers of antivirus software, including two for Windows and one for macOS. The company offers one multi-operating system package covering single- and multi-device configurations in one- or two-year subscriptions.

All of Trend Micro's antivirus software packages include the company's Pay Guard feature that allows you to access your banking or shopping sites securely through your default browser. All packages also include the company's Advanced AI Learning feature that helps identify and defeat new ransomware and other unknown threats.

Trend Micro's antivirus packages don't include many of the application and function features offered by other vendors such as a VPN, identity theft or dark web monitoring, firewall, webcam protection, file encryption, or added cloud storage. Password protection is offered only in Trend Micro's top-tier package.

All of Trend Micro's antivirus software packages include Advanced AI Learning, a cloud-based technology that "delivers highly effective and proactive protection against ever-evolving malware infections...to defend against known and never-before-seen attacks" to guard against virus, spyware, phishing, and ransomware, the company says. Also included in all of Trend Micro's pricing tiers is Pay Guard financial data protection for Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer on Windows PCs. Lastly, Folder Shield protects files stored both on your local hard drive and in cloud-synced folders such as those from Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive.

While Trend Micro includes a VPN and dark web monitoring in its top-tier Premium Security Suite package and a password manager in its top two plans, none of the company’s packages include application- and function-specific features such as identity theft monitoring, a firewall, webcam protection, file encryption, or added cloud storage.

Instead, the company sells a number of separate protections, including Trend Micro Wi-Fi Protection; a VPN compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS ($29.95 per year for one device, $59.95 per year for five devices); Cleaner One Pro to help manage and clear up storage space ($14.99 for one device and $19.99 upon renewal, $29.99/$59.99 per year for up to five devices); Password Manager ($14.95 for one year, $24.95 for two years); and the free ID Security for identity theft protections for Android and iOS.
